Annual Year End Golf Outing, Friday, Sept. 8 at Barberton Brookside

There will be a tab in the left margin on the side to enable printing of the registration forms for our golf outing. Even though many Barberton golfers will receive a form from us in the mail in early August, members of other K clubs, those new to town, etc. may want to participate as well. We will be most willing to mail out printed invoices for playing/sponsoring/other support of our outing if you send an email to this address at Yahoo. www.magiccitykiwanis@yahoo.com

 Annual Projects:

Our club is involved in a variety of projects that involve fundraising, community service, and assisting children locally and worldwide.  Below are the projects in which we are currently involved:

All year round we sponsor and assist the Magic City Kiwanis Esther Ryan Shoe Fund, which is a 501c3 Corporation designed to provide shoes and boots to needy children in the Barberton Schools. The main fund-raiser for the Shoe Fund is the annual Spaghetti Dinner, held every February at the Prince of Peace Church on Shannon Avenue.

In December, we ring the bells for the Salvation Army; in February we sell Temo's Valentine chocolate candy, in April we participate in Barberton Beautification Day, formerly known as Clean Up Barberton Day. In April we hold an event of Scotch Doubles Bowling.  June is the annual Camp Manatoc work day to get the Camp ready for the Scouts to use, July finds us Painting Our Hearts Out. In August, the sale of Roses for Portage Lakes Kiwanis begins.

We will be the sponsor of a lunch Concert at the Gazebo on Aigist 9tj and help with serving and welcoming the people coming to hear the Chardon Polka Band. . Then of the Friday evening and Saturday of the Labor Day Weekend we will do an encore at the beer garden to serve runners from the Jeep Davis Run and visitors to the Lake.

We volunteer at the Mum Fest at the end of September. In October we deliver the Roses which were sold in the Barberton area, host a pizza party for kids who passed their third grade proficiency test and invite our Clergy to join us for breakfast at Clergy Appreciation Day. Perhaps our most fun event is the Gala Art Auction in November. We also are part of the Christmas Walk by sponsoring the Tree Lighting at the Gazebo at Lake Anna. These are only some of the things we do as a group, let us just say, there is never a dull moment at Magic City Kiwanis.
